Frequently Asked Questions

Divide by 3.6. For example 72 km/h / 3.6 = 20 m/s. Going the other way, from m/s to km/h, multiply by 3.6. The 3.6 comes from 1000 metres divided by 3600 seconds.
The gradient is the speed. A steeper line means faster. A flat horizontal line means stationary, because the distance is not changing. A line coming back down towards zero means returning to the start.
The three formulas are: Speed = Distance / Time, Distance = Speed x Time, and Time = Distance / Speed. Keep the units consistent. If distance is in km and speed is in km/h, the time will be in hours.
Pakistan Standard Time (PKT) is UTC+5, meaning Pakistan is 5 hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). If it is 08:00 PKT in Karachi, the UTC time is 03:00. London (UTC+0) would also show 03:00 at that moment (outside British Summer Time).
Step 1: Count from the departure time to midnight (00:00). Step 2: Subtract that from the total journey time to find what is left. Step 3: The arrival time is midnight plus the remaining time. Example: Depart 23:50, journey 8 h 25 min. From 23:50 to 00:00 = 10 min. Remaining = 8 h 25 min - 10 min = 8 h 15 min. Arrival = 00:00 + 8 h 15 min = 08:15 the next day.
Add the hours together, then add the minutes together. If the minutes total is 60 or more, carry 1 extra hour and keep the leftover minutes. Example: 2 h 45 min + 1 h 50 min. Hours: 2+1=3. Minutes: 45+50=95. 95 minutes = 1 hour 35 min. Total = 3+1 = 4 hours 35 minutes.
Multiply the hours by 60, then add the extra minutes. Example: 9 hours 25 minutes = (9 x 60) + 25 = 540 + 25 = 565 minutes.
One day has 24 x 60 = 1,440 minutes. Divide 1,440 by the orbit time in minutes and round down for complete orbits. Example: orbit time = 96 minutes. 1,440 / 96 = 15. So the satellite makes 15 complete orbits per day.
