Frequently Asked Questions
How do you convert PM time to 24-hour clock? +
For PM times (except 12:00 PM), add 12 to the hour. Example: 3:45 PM. 3 + 12 = 15. So it becomes 15:45. 12:00 PM stays as 12:00 in 24-hour clock.
How do you convert 24-hour clock to 12-hour clock? +
If the hour is 13 or more, subtract 12 and add PM. Example: 22:20. 22 - 12 = 10. So it becomes 10:20 PM. Hours 01 to 11 are AM. 00:00 is 12:00 AM (midnight). 12:00 is 12:00 PM (noon).
What is midnight in 24-hour clock? +
Midnight is 00:00 in 24-hour clock. The day starts at 00:00 and ends at 23:59.
How do you calculate time that crosses midnight? +
Count from the start time to midnight (00:00), then count the remaining time after midnight and add both parts. Example: 11:50 PM to 12:10 AM. From 11:50 PM to midnight = 10 minutes. From midnight to 12:10 AM = 10 minutes. Total = 10 + 10 = 20 minutes.
How many seconds are in one hour? +
There are 3,600 seconds in one hour. 60 seconds in a minute, and 60 minutes in an hour. 60 x 60 = 3,600.
What is the formula for speed? +
Speed = Distance divided by Time. If a car travels 180 km in 3 hours, its speed = 180 / 3 = 60 km/h. You can remember it with the triangle: Distance at the top, Speed and Time at the bottom.
How do you convert minutes to hours and minutes? +
Divide the total minutes by 60. The whole number part is the hours; the remainder is the minutes. Example: 195 minutes. 195 divided by 60 = 3 remainder 15. So 195 minutes = 3 hours 15 minutes.
