How many minutes are in one hour? +
There are 60 minutes in one hour. The long hand on a clock (the minute hand) takes 60 minutes to travel all the way around the clock once.
How many hours are in one day? +
There are 24 hours in one day. The first 12 hours are AM (from midnight to noon) and the next 12 hours are PM (from noon to midnight).
How many seconds are in one minute? +
There are 60 seconds in one minute. 60 seconds = 1 minute. 60 minutes = 1 hour.
What is the difference between AM and PM? +
AM means the morning hours, from 12:00 midnight to 11:59 in the morning. PM means the afternoon and night hours, from 12:00 noon to 11:59 at night. Waking up at 7:00 is 7:00 AM. Going to bed at 9:00 at night is 9:00 PM.
What does half past mean? +
Half past means 30 minutes after the hour. Half past 4 is written as 4:30. When it is half past, the long minute hand points straight down to the 6.
What do the two hands on an analog clock mean? +
The short hand is the hour hand - it slowly points to which hour it is. The long hand (usually red or a different colour) is the minute hand - it shows the minutes. When the long hand points straight up to 12, it is exactly o'clock. When it points to 6, it is half past.
