Hyphenated: self-control • well-being • check-in • father-in-law
Closed (one word): sunlight • notebook • doorstep • rainfall • toothpaste

Note: The form changes as a word becomes more commonly used. When unsure, check a dictionary. In exams, all three forms are acceptable if used consistently.
